Inquiry posted on 03/11/06 I need a heater for a 5 ft whirlpool bathtub. The 20A, 120VAC circuit available must also support a 7A motor. Your heater EHHVUL101 should work, but less power might be better. What are the dimensions of the EEHVUL101? Are connections 1.5" FPT? Can I buy a pressure switch separately? | Response This unit on 120vac will draw 1.5 kw... 12.5 amps + 7 amps puts you at 19.5; very close to max limits of your existing circuit. I would do an ammeter check to see what your existing motor is actually drawing. Many cases a pump motor will draw less amperage than that listed on the motor housing as that is a 'maximum allowable consistent load' rather than the actual in use max with a specific wet end.
You won't know until you actually measure it.
Yes you can purchase a pressure switch separately. Check under heater parts or electrical parts category on the left.
Yes the fittings are 1.5" fpt.
| Inquiry posted on 05/24/05 I need to replace my vulcan KF J96 heater element #34799C. iT'S BY WATKINS MFG. 5500W, 240V. DO YOU HAVE THIS ITEM OR KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND ONE?
| Response If the heater you are looking to replace looks like the one pictured here, then I am afraid the element is unavailable by itself, a complete new heater is the only solution. | Inquiry posted on 09/21/05 I HAVE A JANSON SPA...IT HAS A VULCAN HEATER ASSEMBLY...2 3/8" DIM & 1 3/4"
FEMALE INLETS....1500 WTS....120 VOLTS....DO YOU HAVE A HEATER ASSEMBLY THAT I MAY REPLACE IT WITH OR DO YOU DO REPAIRS?
| Response Ours is probably the replacement, it is the most popular heater of its kind. The heater has 1 1/2" FPT connections (1 1/2" female pipe thread). This unit will run 220 for 5.5KW or 110 for 1.5KW
| Inquiry posted on 11/02/05 Hi,
What else do I need with the heater? In terms of fittings....Does it simply keep the water heated at same temp or can you increase the water temp?
How well does it heat with a 110v hookup, not 230?
Thanks | Response This unit has a thermostat on it which you can set as high as 104 degrees, at 110V it will heat an 350 gallon tub in about 18 hours. | Inquiry posted on 02/20/06 Need wire diagram for thermostat to limiter switch. I want to make sure every thing is wired up correctly, on vulcan electric heater. | Response Check out this wiring diagram: http://spababes.com/spaheatercircuits.html IT will be the first one.
