Manufacturers are now using the double pole frame to create a single pole contactor. The other side is used as a separate available line to mount extra circuits to, although the other side is not switched, there is no need to use it. The base frame is the same size however the physical dimensions of the upper carrier are a bit larger. You may have to use creative engineering to install in the spot where the old single pole contactor was installed.
