| GFCB test button/nothing happens |
Does anyone know what would make a new Eaton/Cutler Hammer 60a spa panel GFCB not trip when the test button is -pressed. I press the test button and nothing happens. Any help would be greatly appreciated appreciated. |

First, make sure the breaker is actually on. Verify power is leaving the breaker, or the equipment is running that it protects. If all that is a go, you just experienced a faulty breaker. Faulty, as long as you don't have the ground tied to the neutral at any point after the breaker. If so, you cooked the breaker. Eaton/Cutler-Hammer isn't my first choice in GFI....in fact, it's one of my last choice. |

Thanks for the onfo. You were right the GFCB was bad, and it was brand new right out of the box. I lost my reciept and had to spend another 70.00 for another one. I'll never buy from Cutler Hammer again. The Square D brand was only $5.00 more at HD but I already had a C.H. Subpanel.
Great site by the way! |

Good to hear you are back in business... IMHO Square D QO is the best you can buy... fits in a smaller space too. |

I have a Sq "D" that is about two months old that does not trip if tested. I am starting to lean towards it being a faulty breaker. It worked fine when I got the tub up and running back in March. I guess i'll go back to lowes and talk to someone in there about the problem. When I find out I will post. |

Home Depot and Lowes are both Good about taking parts back without a reciept, they usually will give in store credit, but I know I spend enough at those places that thats never been a problem for me.
