| GFCI trips occassionlly |
Hi,
I wired my Sundance spa a while back and it works fine, except that the GFCI trips occassionly. One reason I noticed this happening is when I use my air compressor in the garage other times it seems the vacuum cleaner might trip it but not always and still other times I come home from work and it will be tripped.
Here's how it's wired... 6/3 cable from house sub panel to gfci red and black cables connected to load side of gfci, whita cable to neutral bar and the ground to the grounding bar. From the gfci sub panel I have the white cable conntected to the gfci on the bottom connector and the red and black cable to the left and right connectors. I don't have a ground connected between the spa and the gfci, I ran a #8 cable to a grounding rod 6 ft from the spa. A first i had the #8 cable running to the ground for my house sub panel but that tripped the gfci instantaneously.
First is the wiring ok? Second if it is why does the spa trip the gfci when some other equipement is used?
Thanks,
Frank |

I would suspect the GFI breaker, and would try replacing it. |
