OK i bought a New GFCI box because my other one was really corroded and sat on the groung in the rain for a year. Anyways i took cover off to inspect my Jacuzzi brand jacuzzi and its dry as dry gets. Someone told me that a fuse or breaker could be tripped in the jacuzzi motor and causing my GFCI to pop. I see a small clear fuse on the control panel, it looks fine, then there is a big fuse that you cant see into, can that be bad and can you tell if it is? I honestly think my GFCI is bad, it ran great for a hour before it tripped the breaker. i got the model number UG412RMW250P Spa disconnect panel. Its a little different in the hook ups, snyone have pictures on hooking this one up? My old one is just like the one on how to hook up a GFCI topic. Thanks alot. I cant find any breakers to reset inside my jacuzzi. Also my house breaker doesnt pop, just the outside one. I think that the Breaker is corroded inside since the teminals outside are corroded to.

Well, first did you make sure that the rating of the GFCI breaker is adequate? Also make sure all terminals are tight. The GFCI breaker could trip for many reasons. The first it is a breaker like any other breaker. It could trip for an overload, short.... then the GFCI may trip if the connections are not done right, being loose, misswired, or wires touching each other while bare. I had a service call last month for a similar situation, and another electrician misswired the GFCI. It is very possible that the new GFCI is defective. Regarding the fuse inside the Jacuzzi, your best bet is to call the manufacture of the Jacuzzi and ask them. That is an unfamiliar reason for a GFCI to trip. There might be a short inside the Jacuzzi if any damage is found then that’s a sign.
