| Wiring a Hostpring Classic |
I recently purchased an older Hotspring Classic model, but before I hook it up I wanted to clarify a few things. The only wiring diagram I could find online was one for a 1999 Hostpring, and I believe mine to be older than this. There are 4 wires in the wirebox in the hot tub. The colors are as follows: Red, Blue, White, and Black. I'm assuming that the white is the neutral and in the absence of a green wire that the black is the ground, I was just wondering if someone could clarify this for me.
The second question I had was that the wiring diagram I am looking at right now uses one 20amp gfci and one 30amp. I was wondering if I would run into any problems using one 50amp. Thanks.
The serial number on the spa is: FH- 311016 if this helps identify the year at all. |

Not sure on the wire colors, but don't ever assume any color other than green to be ground. The breakers are separated for a reason, one for the heater, one for the pumps. Keep them separate. It will save a lot of headaches when the time comes to figure out which is tripping the breaker when it goes south. |
