| 220V through a 5KW heater with only 75 Watt Circ. pump on? |
I had to rewire my Leisure Bay 10000's control pack, taking out the components/harness that allowed it to be 110/220 convertable.
When the heat kicks on the double pole contactor feeds both heater terminals with 110 each, totaling 220 and allowing it to pull 5KW. Is 5KW producing to much heat if only the small Grundos (75W) circulation pump is running?
Reason I ask is the heater died. I bought the tub used and had it running fine for 6 months in the configuration described above. It's probably the original heater on a 12 year?? old tub that sat unused for several years. I'm not surprised it died given the age, I just want to insure a new one I buy doesn't die in another 6 months.
A picture of my heater type is shown below.

Re: 220V through a 5KW heater with only 75 Watt Circ. pump on?
No problems. That little grunfos pushes a fairly substantial amount of water. You'll feel it coming out around 6-8 degrees (F) warmer than ambient.
Enjoy,
