Installing a Balboa EL2001 Control System in a Dimension One Diplomat Spa
I just purchased a Balboa EL 2001 control pack and am looking for advise as to how to proceed in installing it in my Dimension One Spa. I have two dual speed 4hp pumps and one circulating pump which is connected to the heater. My question to you guys is this: The heater on the Balboa control system is integrated with the system and has 2" inlets and outlets. Currently the D1 heater is attached to the circulating pump and has 3/4" inlets and outlets. Can I adapt the Balboa system to use the 3/4" inlets and outlets? Some people that I spoke with said that it would work no problem while the other people said that I may have some flow issues. If I cannot connect it to the 3/4" fittings then my only other option will be to connect it between one of the pumps. If I connect it between one of the pumps should I just cap off the fittings that previously went to the pump and get rid of the circulating pump altogether? Thanks in advance for any help.
