Spa pack upgrade

Hi All,
I'm needing to upgrade my spa equip. and am unsure as to how to proceed..... heres the scoop..

Dimension one spa about 11 years old
230v system

Spa is in excelent shape still as the tub was made of a material called rovell.

Anyway, The Controller isn't keeping the water at a constant temp.
In fact now it won't heat up over 80 deg.

The circuit board I replaced once and then a few years ago it popped or something and blew out some of the tracing on the board. I ran a wire between the 2 components ( circumventing the tracing ) replaced the fuse and have been able to use the tub untill recently.

Heres what I am pondering....

Should I replace the controller with a AP-4 Controller?
My concerns with this are:
being able to reroute plumbing to facilitate the AP-4
Whether my topside control will work with this unit ( I have a ST 1200 ramco topside controller thats aprox. 1 year old )

Or should I replace the unit with a Build-a-pak similar to what is already there with a new heater element?

Also, as you will see ( I hope)
I have some seepage from under the jacuzi pump...
should I replace the pump? or can it be rebuilt?

Here's some pic's of the spa....

Thanks in advance for any and all suggestion and/or recomendations

OK..... So patients isn't one of my bigger virtue's <img src=" title="Laughing" /> I just ordered the LX-10 Digital control which came with a digital topside controller built-in heater etc.. Hope I can get the plumbing to play along.... Feel free to agree or disagree with my decision I'd like to hear your thoughts...

You're right about the plumbing playing along. It should work.. just be very patient with it.

Oh great....there's that patience thing again <img src=" title="Laughing" /> Thanks for the input. I'll post a pic when its complete.

Ok, So heres the finished product <img src=" title="Very Happy" /> Not too bad for a rookie I guess.... LX-10 works great! Fairly simple to install.... I'd like to say it only took me 2 hours but that would be a lie... <img src=" title="Laughing" /> Actually it took me about 6 hours all in all... Thank God for flex pipe <img src=" title="Smile" /> Anyway I said I'd post a pic when I was done and so i did.

Well I'll be! Thanks a lot for the upgrade pic! What a superb job you did on this.

To tell you the truth, I've done so many tub upgrades like this, I'd WISH they only took 2 hours!

It NEVER happens. Well maybe once I had a complete retrofit done in 3.5 hours, with only a thermowell to drill and a spa side hole to expand.. no plumbing. 5-6 hours was always the norm.

So consider yourself a professional upgrade man! You've done a heck of a great job with this.

Your record is going into our db for a free lifetime membership to the future NSN, National Spa Network™

If you have time, it'd be great if you could upload an overall picture of your spa installation, and side control install, etc... This is worthy of a showcase feature.

Thanks very much!

Gee Thanks!.... I'm blushing <img src=" title="Laughing" /> Sorry it took me so long to respond.... thought I would get an email notification if someone responded to my posts..probably my fault <img src=" title="Rolling Eyes" /> Anyway here's a couple more pic's.. this weekend's project is to restain the deck so it's lookin a bit shoddy, If you would like the pic's with no watermark just e-mail me I'll send em to ya <img src=" title="Very Happy" /> Here's the topside controls. The new controller wasn't as big as the old one so I cut a piece of plexi glass, spray painted the back of it gloss black to give it a sano look <img src=" title="Smile" /> Here is a full shot of the spa.. Thanks again for the kind comments. I'll try and post the pic's after the deck stain... It'll look alot better then!

I have this exact same tub, I just installed a new wave spa pack, I also bought an ozonator. When I got the tub the equipment was all removed. I am not sure if this tub is ozone ready or not. What are those two small lines that come out of the side and 90 up? there is a little spring loaded valve inside. Mine has a small barbed fitting that was put in by someone, and I wondered if that is where the ozone tube goes? help!!

Hmm, man this sounds like the typical dead boat with removed engine and i/o system - no boat expert but I did stay at a H/I Express last night.

On many upscale brand tubs such as D1 and Hot Springs, you will have terminated air input lines that are present in the equipment compartment - Yes they will have springs and/or rubber one way diaphragms that allow air to go into the jet air intakes.

On other spas, instead of this configuration, there will be air knobs on the top of the tub so you can adjust the pressure of the jets.

That's the answer to your question regarding the lines that go 90 degrees up.

Now as far as the latter question ---- "mine has a small barbed fitting that was put in by someone" needs a little further explanation, perhaps post a photo of what you're dealing with. Then somebody can give you a real answer, not an imagined one.

Thanks.
