I have an old spa cover that the foam is water logged. I have let it dry in the sun to try and evaporate some of the water. Iy is apparent that I will never get the foam completely water free. Each peice is still very heavy. I was wondering if there is any advantage to using this foam to insulate the hot tub. I am in the process of rebuilding the skirting around the hot tub. I was going to use the 2 inch pink owens corning board for insulation around and under the hot tub. I am following the suggestions from charger 1 post - Unknown make/model 8' hot tub octagon project /USA photos. http://www.spaforums.com/Spa_Hot_Tub_ptopic750.html I am not sure if the foam will insulate because it has been water logged? The 2 inch pink board is $25.00 per 4 x 8 foot peice. I will need around 4 pieces to to the job. Should I use the old foam to save money? And will it really insulatate? Any ideas or suggestions would be helpful!

Thank you for viewing my posts! What I would do is discard the old insulation and replace it with new. Granted, the old insulation has been sculpted (most likely) to create a high spot in the center and then tapering down to the edges, but being that the old insulation isn't likely as thermally efficient to begin with, and add water logging, new foam will be best.
