| What year is my Sovereign please? |
My serial number is: IH-431147
I bought this tub for $100 several months ago, it had a hole in the floor from a heating tool to thaw ice, I cleaned out the bondo and repaired it with an ABS epoxy type of epoxy from NAPA, it turned out expertly done. My only issue is the heater box hi limit circuit breaker kept tripping, I don't think the heater is too hot but more than likely its because the thermocouple bulb was slightly smashed. It will not go into the small hole at the top left corner of the heater box so it is just dangling outside. I have found one on Ebay for about $45.
If possible I would really like to get a wiring scematic, I know ellectrical very well as I am a concrete batch plant engineer in Alaska.
My family has been ejoying the tub for over a week now andI just won an auction of some spare Hot Springs parts like another main pump and another heater box with the heaters, and I would also like to install an ozone generator, there appears to be a sticker that barely says something about this tub being able to use one, anybody have any info on that?
I think I may have to remove some side panels as I have a small leak from the right side of the tub when the divertor valve is set to the right. And the motomassage was broken but I just bought another from Ebay. This tub is easy to work on as I did remove the control box twice to clean the contacts and verify that it was the hi limit heat circuit breaker that was giving me problems. There was an auction of someone parting out a Grandee, I won the big pump, the heater box but lost the control panel.
Many thanks for any advice, info and your experiance if you have the same tub. |

220v 1993 sovereign.
The sticker about ozone- disregard it. It mentioned that you should ONLY use an ozone generator from Hot Spring Spas, but in reality, any ozone generator will do. Just tap into the circ-pump circuit for power (The circ pump is 110v).
Enjoy, and good luck!

Thank you very much Swine, I kinda figured it was, it currently has a 1hp Wavemaster, would putting in a 2hp pump from a Grandee hurt anything cause I just won an auction of one for $9.99 plus the shipping. My current one is 110V and the 2hp is 220v, I was going to put in another 220v cord and have a relay control the motor. |

A Grandee of the same era only uses a 1hp pump too, it just uses 2 of them.
Should be the identical Sta-Rite pump, yopu won't notice any difference.
If it's a different pump, I'd stick with the original recipe. You won't notice much of an increase in jet pressure, it's matched quite well with the existing plumbing. |
