"The Islander" 7' x 15' Spa Rehab

The story so far: Thanks to the wide world of Craigslist I picked up an "Islander" spa for free. Well, almost free. The first step was moving it about a mile down the road. After renting the largest Uhaul they had, I found that it wouldn't fit inside the truck. So I finally found a 24' flat bed truck to rent and got it moved fairly easily to it's new home in my backyard.

Work to be done:
-level and build up base for support
-rebuild frame and skirting
-repatch and cover a few fiberglass cracks and gel coat bubbles
-recover the current foam cover or purchase a custom SpaCap cover

The questions:
1. the previous owner had the spa on top of a 2x4 frame/grid that was filled with sand and leveled. is this enough support for a giant spa? i need to rip apart the frame and skirting and build a new one and will be replacing all of the 2x4s under the footwell along with building up the frame along the edges.
2. any suggestion on whats with all the plumbing connections? Ive found above ground spas to look at and there aren't this many in's and out's on other spa's for some reason.
3. any idea on where to look for a model number on this thing to hunt down more info? previous owner said it's about 20 years old or so...
4. SpaPack, blower & pump. Possible to get this as all in one unit and save somplace?

Re: "The Islander" 7' x 15' Spa Rehab

Starting a packed sand pad this weekend and starting to rip out the old frame while I'm at it too.

Considered laying bricks and then sand over it. Maybe? We'll see.

Going to get a Gecko S Class with a K-35 Controller because the old pack is shot. Just need to sort out the pump and plumbing and all that other good stuff now!
