| spa was in flood |
hello,
I am new to this forum, looks pretty informative " title="Surprised" />
My question: Is it worth saving a spa that has been totally under water due to a flood. " title="Shocked" />
I was given the spa and its actually pretty clean. Before I go and do something stupid like try to power it up, what should I do?? Control pack looks clean (no visible fry marks anywhere on the control board) but I would think that the pump and heater element might not have made it. I have not checked anything yet due to fear of sparks or whatever. The spa is dry as a bone now. So what do you think it will take to get this hot tub working again?? (if anything).

I just had to test this spa out before I bought any parts to repair it. I put in the gfi breaker, filled the spa with water and threw the switch. To my surprize the thing powered up...but the pump was frozen and kept tripping out. After a few wacks with my trusty craftsman hammer the pump even came on!! and it works great.
point of story..after a flood even if the whole tub is submerged the thing might still work. Make sure it is totally dried off first though!! |

Good luck and enjoy, however I think we'll be talking again soon. |
