1999 Sundance Optima

Hi, We just got our Sundance Optima back up and running replacing one of the pumps. It has been running good the past week, until yesterday. While we were in the tub running all the pumps, after about 10 minutes, the breaker blew. Since, We have not been able to power the hot tub on, the breaker keeps shutting off. When the hot tub is not plugged into the breaker, the breaker turns on. once the power is plugged into the circuit board, the breaker blows again, never powering on the spa. Does anyone have any ideas???

Re: 1999 Sundance Optima

You need to unhook each component and reset the breaker after unhooking each one. This will determine which component is tripping the GFI. I would start with the heater. Pete use this advice at your own risk http://www.makesmeshutter.com http://www.floridahotspring.com

Re: 1999 Sundance Optima

Peteyboy, Thank you for the information. We disconnected each part until we located the bad part. It was the blower. Although, alot of people thought it was probably the heater, the heater checked out ok. Thanks again for your help. <img src=" title="Smile" />

Re: 1999 Sundance Optima

I spoke to soon. New problem. We had an lightening storm last night. I knocked out the electric for about 10 minutes. It was late, we didnt check the hot tub until today. There is a FLO on the display and you can not turn any of the pumps on. Any ideas? Tried switch the breaker off and then back on, but the FLO is still on the display.

Re: 1999 Sundance Optima

Might want to check you pump fuses if none of the pumps come on. Should double check the power going to the spa too. Make sure you still have 240V.

Re: 1999 Sundance Optima

Make sure the circulation pump is pushing water - you can jump the flow switch if you do have circ pump flow - do not leave the flow switch jumped, it is a protection device for the heater. use this advice at your own risk Pete http://www.makesmeshutter.com http://www.floridahotspring.com
