| Another GFCI question |
I have a Catalina Coronado Elite tub with Balboa spa pac. I am trying to narrow down why my GFCI is tripping.
I have unplugged all pumps and blowers, etc.. one at a time no luck
I have put in a NEW GFCI No luck
I even replaced the circuit board No luck
But, If I use a standard 50amp breaker, it will run all day, I just will not use it without the GFCI
I have had this tub for 4 years, now all the sudden this????
Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks |

Replace your heater element.
You haven't mentioned it, but it really is the first thing you should check. |

I hope you are right page. But wouldn't the heating element trip the regular 50 amp breaker as well? Thanks |

I should have stated that it does heat properly with the standard 50amp breaker. Does that make difference? |

nope.
Removing both leads from the heater element is part of troubleshooting just like removing the plug from the pump etc...
So if it works with the heater leads removed, then you've found the problem. |

Thanks pageup. You were correct, it was the heater. I wish I would have found this forum sooner. |
