Changing from 120-240

I just got done rebuilding a hot tub a buddy gave me, he had it wired for 120 and told me it would run better if I wired it 240. I have ran the wire and was getting it ready to hook up to the control box and now I have questions. The control box is a Balboa and the date says 1997 For the 240-120 conversion it says to move the red wire in the TB1 1 slot and move it to the 4 slot so its safe to guess I put this back to 1 but it talks about a white wire coming from the input side and going to J8 or something and mine doesnt have a white wire and the red wire goes to a 20 amp fuse Im looking at this page http://www.masterpoolandspa.com/wiring.pdf#search= and it looks just like mine do I not hook anything into the #1 thanks for any help Brad

The red wire going to the fuse only get used if you have a 240-volt pump. For 120-volt there should be two red wired at TB1 (top connection on terminal block) and for 240-volt the get moved down to the 4th spot. All it does is allow 240-volt to the heater, everything else is still 120-volt.

There wasnt anything wired to the #1 spot

Here is the cover showing how to wire it. It was 120 and Im making it 240 I have the imput 240 wired just like it says my main concern is the extra red and white wire. I did move the red wire to the block is says to do I move it back?

Thanks for the reply
Brad

Wait Im reading this backward so the red wire that is supposed to be at the #1 moves to the #4 with the other red wire? If thats the case it was set up for 240 but was hooked up as 120
