| Circuit board repair? |
I have a 2000 Nordic Warrior which I let my friend "help" me with the wiring thinking HAY he hooked up his own and I have seen it work so I figured what the heck. Well after wiring it up with his bad advice :" title="Question" /> we turned it on and had a pop and spark and now I have a burned diode and a burned spot on my circuit board. The control unit is a Gecko S series with oval control. After looking around the net I havent been able to purchase just the board but you have to buy the board, heater and box. My questiion is does anyone know repair spa circuit boards? I would appreciate any help you guy's can offer!! " title="Laughing" /> |

For pack installs that's (Sseries) my favorite. Back in the day, we used to send boards to Spa Parts Plus in Arizona. In most cases it was replaced with another "repaired" board. You may need to go thru a local dealer/ service center to do it. I've known of people finding a fairly local computer board repair company. You may have one near you. Call some local computer repair shops. For really fast service, cough up the $600. or so for the new control pack. " title="Rolling Eyes" /> |

Unless you've got an expert electronics technician at your side, you're stuck.
The gecko s series (also known as sspa), was never designed to have a replacement board. It was sold only as a complete unit.
Your system is a 'pre-Balboa patent infringement lawsuit' unit - so it's either pay an electronics tech a lot of money to try to figure it out without a proprietary schematic, or simply replace it with something like this:

For 399 it'll replace the sspa unit you have easily. |
