I'm not sure if it's the topside control, the pump, or the circuit board:
1. After power outage in neighborhood, jets (blowers) stay as spa heats.
2. Topside control display reaches 84 degrees and shows "OH."
3. Left corner of topside control has small black spot and occasionally flickers.
History:
Topside control and overlay was replaced under warranty in 2000. |

I wouldn't call that a power outage, sounds more like an insurance claim due to high voltage being sent down the lines.
Your best and probably only realistic thing to do is replace the entire controller... |

So your sense is it's the topside controller -- and wouldn't even fiddle with testing the systemboard?
I poked around lots of sites and the only topside controller that even comes close -- but isn't an exact match -- is on ActionSpa's site. (http://www.actionsparepair.com/control-panels3.html) |

What I'm saying is,
is it looks more like your entire system... topside, circuit board, and possibly even the transformer (which I wouldn't trust as far as I could throw it after an event like this), should be replaced (eg 'the controller'.. 'control system').
You've got too many things wrong at this point to give any reasonable diagnosis of a single point of failure. You could certainly try a topside, but plan on a new board as well...
And you really can't test a questionable board with a fried topside... so... |

I called Marquis Spas first. It's the second time I've asked them for help with service and their attitude isn't terrific.
The tech wouldn't help with a diagnosis and told me that the two authorized service companies were 300 miles away. (And I live in a kinda metro area -- southern California, specifically, Pasadena.) He suggesed I just call any spa company in the yellow pages. Swell. |

When troubleshooting over the phone it is very difficult, the person could only give you the possibilities as to the problem, but not tell what exactly the problem is.
Also when dealing with electricity it can be dangerous and most manufactures will not troubleshoot things unless dealing with a technician.
They have no clue of your abilities or lack of abilities, so they do not want to play a part in you getting fried.

Thanks, Gary, I'll give him a buzz.
Before I do, though, one more question for all of you:
I was looking under the hood and noticed that no water was flowing through the tubes leading to the ozinator (The light on the ozinator was on, either solid or flashing). Is that normal? |

That is normal. |
