| Help with possibly pump/water issues? |
I have searched and not found the answers, so if anyone could help, or give advice. I have a * hottub. To make a LONG! story short. The second pump keeps dying, we believe because it keeps blowing the motherboard fuse? Anyways the water has been getting worse and worse. Levels are off. Alkelinity is low, PH is low, bromine looks normal(sometimes the test strip show dark on the inside, and light on the outside, possibly bad strips). I've put alk up, tried to fix the levels, but I can't seem to get it working. The water isn't clear, it looks either blue or green. Smells strongly of chemical(not the bromine smell i dunno). And it gets VERY bubbly. Turn the jets on high and it's like a bubble bath in there. I've cleaned the filter twice since the problem. My hot tub guy(who i try to avoid because he ripped me off when fixing it the first time) says that the water gets stagnant inside the second pump "area" and can make the water go bad. Is this true? If he fixes the pump, will it correct itself? Any helpful advice? Thanks! |

Re: Help with possibly pump/water issues?
Sorry - I can't reply on the pump problem.
How often do you drain & refill? Should be 3-4 times per year.
Very high sanitizer levels can effect the pH & Alk readings - don't trust them.
The strong smell can be low pH - it will almost make you cough if very low.
Foam comes from a couple places - hot water pulls everything off your body, soaps, sweat, shampoo - and mostly bathing suits and clothes - washers leave a lot of soap in our clothes. De-foamer is a band-aid solution.
I would drain & refill - start from scratch.
Hope this helps
Pete
