| Hotsprings Landmark S 5 hour Trips |
Hey guys,
I just installed a new to me, but 1995 Hotsprings Landmark S spa. To my suprise (after replacing the circ pump) it fired right up! However there seem to a be a couple of problems. There seems to be only on or off for heat. When I set the spa to stay at a certain temp (via a rotary dial labled 1-10) it seems to just heat and heat and heat and heat. It actually thermal tripped at 120F the first night we had it. Do we think this is just a thermostat issue?
The other issue is the spa loses power every 5 hours or so. it doesnt seem to matter what it is doing, heating, not heating, jets, no jets etc...Its not the breakers or GFCI, so It must be some internal cut off. There is absolutely no power to the spa (no power light, nothing works) until I cut the power from the breaker for 5 minutes and then it starts right up again.
Any ideas?
Thansk guys |

First check the toggle switch on the right side of the black control box in the equip. compartment. That's the summer timer. Make sure it's off. Your temp problem is, likely, thermistor related. Does your landmark have the original cartridge heater in it? Or has it been retro-fitted? Either way, I'd start with thermistors, unles you have a really good electrical meter and you can ohm test them. You'll find lots of help here...You should befriend your local HS dealer as well, they can be a big help. |
