| Hydro Wave and Correct Tech HL Code? |
Purchased a used spa that I was told ran fine. It is a portable 110 spa made by Hydro Wave with the controls made by Correct Tech. Got it home and it will heat to 101 or 102 and stay there for awhile, then it goes into a flashing HL code on Display and the heat goes off the temp starts to drop. I am able to reset it to 70 degrees, then unplug unit and it will purge and we increase temp and it heats up again and then does the exact same thing. Service folks and Correct Tech (Correct tech makes the board) say I need a new board...which will cost around $400.00 total. I cannot find Hydro Wave number, I assume they have gone out of business? and I do not have a manual, I need one badley. I feel the guy that sold it to me should either take it back and return my money or pay repairs, but he keeps saying it worked fine when he sold it. Apparentley the high limt Probe and the thermesters have been checked, (whatever those are) however, no one can guarantee replacing the board will fix the problem. Any experience or advice would be so much appreciated. I will add one personal observation here: First I feel it a matter of honesty to stand behind something you sell. I am having a hard time believing this was working perfectley when sold, but the seller has come to my home and attested to that and looked it over. Saying he had this problem only once before resetting the HL when it was moved from Arizona and never again. Personally, if I sold something that worked fine but did not work fine immediately upon receipt by buyer I would take it back. Second the spa repair business offerred me a "phoney invoice" over the actual amount, to submit to seller in the event he was willing to "foot" some of the charges. Unbelievable! This is not the right thing. Call me old fashioned but I still believe honesty is the best policy! |
