Jacuzzi Echo Z145 electrical

Scenario- Is SUPPOSED to have a 115VAC, 15AMP, 60HZ-requiring a dedicated separate circuit equipped with GFCI Incorporated in line Cord, The dog chewed it off. My question is: I do have a GFCI outlet in the back of the house and I was planning on just using an 8ft grounding rod and rewiring with new plug without GFCI inline breaker cord. Using a #8 solid copper wire, can I just bond the wire to the spa ground plate and plug her in?
