| Lost Heat, pump intermittently running |
Greetings all. I have a Blue Ridge Spa that I've owned since 2001. Last year, I lost heat and constant low flow from the pump. I haven't done anything with it yet, but now I'm having more and more therapeutic needs for it. So, I'm trying to get it fixed. When it failed, the pump would only run for 5 seconds at a time, and we had no heat at all. Now I'm revisiting it, and I found a heater and a pump online, but not sure what I need, if anything at all. Any help would be appreciated. I have a multimeter, and I'm mechanically inclined, I just have no specialized knowledge of Spas.
Thanks Again! |

Re: Lost Heat, pump intermittently running
Hi,
1. Swap the connections from one pump to another to check pump operation. if the other pump does the same then the fault is elsewhere. 2. Check the flow switch is operating properly. If this is faulty it will turn the heater and pump off. it's usually on the heater element body inside the control unit. 3. Check the overheat cut-off switch, it will be on the outer heater body of the heater element. This will turn off the pump and heater if it is faulty. 4. If there is no flow around the heater element the water will boil and power will be cut. remove the filter to see if the filter is blocked and (no1) the pump
Hope that helps |
