Another question for you guys. My buddy has a 1.5 hp pump 1.5 inch outlet calspa. The motor is about 10 years old and its cutting out, I pull the water pump fuse out and put it back in and it works for awhile. The motor is getting abnormally hot compared to my calspa. The low speed side of the motor will usually work with no problem but when the high speed jets are turned on it stops. After the motor cools it seems to be fine. Could the motor be wearing out causing it to run hot then cutting out because of the internal heat protection? Thanks in advance for your help.

yep- the thermal overload resets automatically. Time for a new motor.
