Need Circuit Board Advice for 1994 Tiger Springs Manora

Hello Spa-Gods.

It's me again, the guy in Oregon who bought a spa but knows nothing about how it works.

I've been using my spa almost daily since y'all ( pageup and company ) helped me to get my new( used ) tub fixed last september... for a $400 tub and $300 worth of repairs so far, it's been worth it.

So I haven't used the tub in over a month ( it gets hot here in Oregon in the summer ) but the weather broke and after climbing Mt Hood I felt a cold beer and hot soak was in order.

When I went to dip my toes in.. YIKES>. cold water!!! spa wasn't on.. wasn't heating, and after doing all the usual diagnostics.. it was dead!!

I called oregon hotsprings who sent a tech out to check it out.

He diagnosed the problem as a faulty primary circuit board ( #70734 ) and he said that possbily the controller board might be bad ( #33274) but he wouldn't know until the main board was replaced. HE quoted 316 for parts and another hour of labor to replace.

Here's the facts:

power at the outlet works fine ( 20am, 110volt )
power cord works fine..
GFCI trips and powers things when I plugged a light into it to be sure.
other than that.. nothing works, no heat, circ pump, or light.

I'm just looking for some validation before I ask him to come back and spend $500 more on the hot tub.

I looked on spaparts for the circuit board but didn't see any tiger springs for sale. Can you guys tell me if any of the ones listed here would work?

Also.. is replacing the circuit board something I could do ?

Thanks,

Todd

Re: Need Circuit Board Advice for 1994 Tiger Springs Manora

I'm not at work so I can't check the diagrams. I'm trying to remember if a 94 had a flow-switch in it. It would look like a "T" in one of the 3/4" lines with a small gray cylendar coming off of it with a wire going to the board. I would check that first.

Dan's on the right track. It does have a flow switch. Turn your thermostat down/off, then jump it(the flow switch) temporarily/ momentarily to see if the spa then works.
