New Balboa circuit board/top controller problem

I have a Jucuzzi hot tub with Balboa circuit board and topside control. I purchased a new controller board and topside control. After installing both items I have no display on the top side. I can turn the spa pumps on but not off. I have worked with electronics for years so am sure everything is wired properly and I used a wrist ground strap when instaLLING THE BOARD. I cannot tell if I have a bad controller or board.

Re: New Balboa circuit board/top controller problem

Hi Glen, My suggestion would be to get another topside controller, at least elimate that first. It's the cheaper option....based on what your saying I would say the topside does not match the controller. Best to do a process of elimation, make sure they have a refund policy if it's not the topside. I carry one of every major brand...it's a must have for spa repair. Let me know what happeds,if it does the same thing...board is toast! Oh and you don't need to wear a anti static wrist band to install that board....nothing on there that sensitive to milivolts. Need at least 120V and I don't know anyone who puts out that juice, LOL! <img src=" title="Very Happy" /> <img src=" title="Very Happy" /> Let me know what happens. Re: New Balboa circuit board/top controller problem

I'm having a similar problem. Everything was working fine except the remote topside control (i got the tub used). I plugged in the remote control and both controls went out. I thought I burnt the main topside control so I bought a new one. When I plugged that one in I got nothing. There is a 9v battery that plugs into the circuit board and when I plug it in just the back lights come on on the topside control but still no display in the lcd screen. Could I have burnt the circuit board?? If so, would you have an idea on what could have gotten fried on the board. I can turn on all the pumps and blower manually by tripping the relay by hand so I know those parts are good. I have some electronics experience and would love to be able to fix this instead of buying a new board. Thanks for any help.
