| Nu Wave 1000 110/220 Auto mode not working, timer mode does? |
Hi, please need some help. Spa (two person) Nu Wave 1000 air control. With rocker switch in auto mode heater and low speed will not turn on. Rocker switch in timer mode, heater and low speed work correctly. Some history, spa date stamped on heater is 5-23-03. One owner only, me. Used about 10 months on 110 no problems, always in auto mode. Moved to new house and stored spa for 4 1/2 years. Converted to 220, and stated up a couple weeks ago. Ran in auto mode correctly for 10 days or so, no leaks. And began tripping GFI breaker maybe three times over a couple days, in Auto mode. Then heat and low speed stopped all together. Will not heat and start low speed pump. High speed and light continue to work correctly. If I move the rocker switch to timer mode, heat and low speed come on and work correctly. Rocker switch has three lugs but only two are used, don't know how to test it. I'm I correct in thinking it is the rocker switch or the relay??? TIA for any help. Bob |

Re: Nu Wave 1000 110/220 Auto mode not working, timer mode does?
I had the same problem. A couple of things to check. When you open the panel and look inside you will see two large contactors,(relays), that feed 120v on each leg to the heater. Make sure that you are getting 120v out of the bottom right contacts, if not then something is stopping it from doing so. Also, make sure that when you turn the thermostat to hot that you hear a "click" from the relay behind the aluminum wiring block, (back by the air switches). If not then your thermostat is bad. That was what I found, my thermostat was fried. I replaced it and it started working. Hope this help! |

Replacing the relay fixed it, all is well now. Thanks, Bob |
