| Replaced timer- now nothing |
Hello there, i have an old Cal spa w/hercules motor My low speed timer was sticking on, so i got a new PB813-RED timer. Wired it right in, no problem, & turn it on... nothing... has single button, 4 push switch, I rotate the timer, & the low speed pump doesnt go on. Push the control button for the high speed pump (Push 1), & nothing but a click, i push again (push 2), & the air does turn on, push 3, (pump supposed to go off air stays on), then push 4 (all off) So. no pump. hi or low speed.
I have power going into the timer switch, & when activated, the clock timer (lower wires) get power thru to the other leg when switched on, but the upper leg doesnt complete the loop.... i havent tried to swap the upper 2 wires cuz when i bought it, they said its a simple switch, doesnt matter, just dont hook the upper wires on the lower prongs...
so if the 4 wires were from top to bottom "A-B" & "C-D" "A" has power, but wont complete circut to power up "B"
"C" has power & does complete circut to power up "D"
My swap is thinking switch A & B but it shouldnt matter, its a simple switch?
So next thoughts?? |

Re: Replaced timer- now nothing
OK since i got so many updates & helpfull hints, i guess i'll fill in what happened.... I messed with the old timer trying to repair it, & it didnt work, so i got the new timer, it still did work.... so i went out & bought a new hot tub figuring i didnt want to put the money into a hottub from 1989. So while hooking up the new hottub im testing the wires to see what wires are what... standard 220 stuff... 2 hot leads & a neutral, well only had 1 with power, so i checked the breaker, one side of the breaker went bad... that's all that was wrong with the tub. Until i tested for power at the fuse box, i didnt kow... so lesson learned... Check for power at the fuse box. The 40 amp 220 breaker was $10.73... lol
I like the new tub much better than the old one so im not complaining much.... & i gave the old one to my neighbor, he was gonna have a go at repairing it, & was absolutely delighted when i told him what i found with the breaker... so he made fun of me too... lol ops:" title="Embarassed" /> |
