We have an older hot tub and just had it in for servicing. The pump was running fine for two days. Now it keeps tripping the breaker. I can hit the breaker and it immediately shuts off again. Its running on 110 with an appropriate extension cord. After a few hours it will run for about 20 minutes and then shuts off again. Any ideas? Yes the motor does feel hot to the touch but not hot enough to burn your skin.

Pump motors normally feel hot, sometimes VERY hot. The most common cause for your problem is a bad heater. Try unplugging it (if possible) and see what happens (turning the thermostat to off, may, though unlikely, also allow the breaker to remain set).
