| SpAudio Music System retrofit? |
HotSpring spas has recently introduced a SpAudio music system for their some of their models. I have a 1999 HotSpring Grandee and want to retrofit the SpAudio system into my spa. The dealer says it cannot be done and I should just buy a new $8,000 spa! (Clearly not a good idea!) Anyone heard of retro fitting the Spaudio system in an older tub? Any thoughts or comments from someone who knows something about the SpAudio system would be welcomed! |

There isn't enough room in the equip. compartment of your 1999 spa for the Spadio system to be installed. The amplifier alone is HUGE. Additionally, there is no access to the side panels for the magnet installation, nor is the logic to run the system available on your control system.
Maybe just an outdoor boom-box with a C.D. player until it's time to buy a new spa? ops:" title="Embarassed" /> |

I've considered using a marine grade speaker system and a marine/motorcycle style radio mount for a standard car setup and just using a dc power supply to run the radio... any thoughts on this?
BTW right now I just have a standard shelf system in view with remote control, and have the remote in a ziploc bag that I operate from the tub.... works great! |

That's exactly what Leisure Bay does... a marine stereo/CD player and transformer. It works about as well as you'd expect... The "marine" stereo's don't really seem to like the water much better than a regular radio....

This is the system I prefer, and use as well " title="Cool" /> |

Thanks for your help. I'll work on a set of outdoor powered speakers and a good remote. |
