| Stupid Question: How do I change the lamp in my spa light? |
I recently bought a house that came with a spa. I have no idea what company made it and now the light has apparently burned out. The face of the light fixture is about 3" in diameter and seems smooth without screws or any obvious way to remove it. There also doesn't seem to be any way to easily get to the back of the fixture either. I'm assuming that I need to pull it out from the front but I don't want to break anything. Can anyone offer advice? |

The back pops off to access the light bulb. |

check the surface of the light fixture, do you feel 2 small indents, about 1/2" from the edge, across from eachother? If not, Dr. Spa is correct, you must access it from behind. If you do have these indents, you may be able to unscrew the center of that light fixture from inside the tub. This isn't very common, but they do exist. |

I guess Dr. Spa is right, but it seems like a lousy placement for the light. It's right near the filter system intake. (Skimmer) It would be much easier if it were mounted near the pump/motor since there is a trap door in the redwood housing there to allow access. I guess I'll need to drain the spa and tilit it up to get to the fixture. Seems like a lot of work for a silly little light. Thanks anyway! |
