| Temp calibration? |
I have a 2003 catalina spa with a balboa spa pak. I have replaced my temp sensors hpoing to fix a temperature reading problem. My water temp is actually at 85 but the hot tub thinks its 104-107. I checked the real temp vs the digital readout. It stops heating at 85 because once it thinks it is 104 it stops... Has anyone ran into this problem? Is my circuit board gone or is there a way to calibrate the temp reading with the real temp? Is this anything to do with the pressure switch? Can someone explain what the purpose of the pressure switch is for? (Does it impact temp at all?)
Thanks |

Re: Temp calibration?
Hi,
Pressure switch shouldnt affect temp.
Is the heater the right way round?
Controllers often have jumper settings to enable/disable the in-pool sensor (one in the heater as standard).
COuld be the board, or maybe just the software - there is often a way of doing a factory reset where all the values are re-loaded onto the board, by pressing a combo of buttons on the touchpad, or going into an advanced menu.
I'd contact Catalina's service dept and ask about it before u change the board. |

Re: Temp calibration?
Thank you for the response - I will give them a call. My heater coil was changed a couple of year ago and has not been a problem - so I dont think it is in backwards and it can only go in one way.
Thanks, Mike |
