| The Sundance/ Balboa 6UR board. |
I am a tech at Allied Innovations and have a question on the 6UR board. There are two versions of this board as many people know, the Sundance (6500-476) and the Balboa (50179).
Now I have called both Balboa and Sundance and they say the two are NOT the same board, so basically from a topside perspective, the Balboa top goes to the Balboa board, and the Sundance top goes to the Sundance. Now I have heard different from techs in the field, who obviously prefer the Balboa parts because they are a great deal cheaper, that the two companies are LYING, and you can swap either topside to either board. Is there anyone out there who has tried pairing a Sundance with a Balboa or a Balboa to a Sundance? No one wants to pay an extra $160 for a Sundance logo. And they look IDENTICAL, even the circuitry. |

Yes of course... the topsides and boards are interchangeable. The Balboa does require the use of a 50152 timer adapter kit... that is if you care about the mechanical timer.
The confusion frequently comes when trying to match up a 400 or 650 series as Balboa makes a similar topside looking topside, but is totally different. |
