Thermostat doesn't turn pump off ... relay?
Hello all, first time poster. I've got an old Amish Country spa with the old Brett Aqualine EM components.
A couple days ago I noticed my pump was constantly running (set in "Thermostat control" mode). The thermostat is successfully disabling the heater element but not the pump. If I switch to timed operation the timer does turn the pump (and heater) off at the appropriate time, so I'm a bit stumped why the pump relay would work for the timer but not the thermostat. Is the wiring within the relay different or am I pumping up the wrong tree?
EDIT/UPDATE: dug out my schematics and see there's a coil within the pump relay that the heater loop connects to; assume that's what I need to check (voltage across the coil). Also noticed that the green "ok" light in my GFCI is off and doesn't appear after a reset. Is that also indicative that the coil has failed?

Sounds like you might have a short somewhere. Maybe in the rocker switch that changes the mode?
