gfi tripping, also quite warm ti the touch

For the first three years of operation my hot tub worked fine but for the last few months the gfi has started to trip on a regular basis(once every day or two). Typically, when it is reset it will work and bring the hot tub up to desired temperature but then will trip overnight or some time the next day. This has happened on quite a few occasions. Once it went without tripping for a couple of weeks but now it is again tripping approx. once a day and I noticed that the breaker itself(after removing the front panel) is quite warm to the touch and actually caused an adjacent breaker(my microwave) to trip as well. Obviously something is not right. Do you thik it is a faulty breaker or hot tub heater needing replacement.? Who should I call first....an electrician or my hot tub repair man? Any suggetions much appreciated. Thanks, Ian

Since you've got the panel off,
you need to tighten the screw terminals - They've gotten loose.

If after you've done this, it still trips, replace the breaker because it's heat damaged.

This is normal occurrence for a breaker with loose wires. There's probably nothing wrong with your spa.

Thanks, Pageup. Replaced the breaker and it has been running without tripping for over two days. Not at all warm, either. So, once again, your advice is much appreciated.
