| hot tub heats with jets, not with circulation pump |
I have purchased a 2003 Tiger River Sumatran. We installed it about a month after it had been drained, and am having a problem getting it running properly. It appears to me that all parts are working as they should. Ozone seems fine, after replacing the hoses, circ pump seems to work properly, even took it out and inspected it. Pump seems to heat the water only when I turn on the jets (220v). It heats fine with the jets running, but seems to lose temp when the circulation pump is running. It seems that all electrical connections are in order. Do you have any ideas as to why this might be the case?

Re: hot tub heats with jets, not with circulation pump
Are you leaving the cover closed with the jets running? This can cause friction heat. Find out if the circulation pump is pushing water with no jets running. Check the reset button on top of the heater if it has one (some do some don't). I would then check the main circuit board for the heat LED to be on. If it is then check the left circuit board where the power wires attach. There could be burning between the relays. The board will need to be replaced. If no burning check voltage where the heater connects. If you do have voltage then test across the black & white heater wires for continuity. Bottom line, if there is power to the heater and the reset is not tripped it is a bad heater. |
