| need help finding the correct spa temp sensor replacement |
Hello,
The digital spa temperature reading is now bouncing all over the place. I took a picture of the temp sensor and it is attached. The sensor is 2 inches long and 5/16 inch in diameter. I am having trouble finding the correct replacement for several reasons and could sure use some help:
(1) There are like a million different temp sensors
(2) No part number
(3) 2 inch ones that look close say they are 1/4 inch diameter not 5/16
(4) When I search here I get several pages that come up but when I click on page 2 I get "Sorry, you are unauthorized to view this resource."
Thanks,
Jim |

Is that temp sensor part of a topside control? IF so, can you take a pic of the topside control also? |

Hello Swine,
Thanks for looking at this. Yes, the sensor is part of (connected to) the top side control. I have attached a picture of the top side control.
Three other pieces of information:
(1) The Control Pack manual says "Hurricane Model G"
(2) The temp sensor has 4 wires
(3) SPA was built around 1996

My advice?
Buy a floating thermometer. The digital thermometer on that tub is not related to the t-stat, and has nothing to do with temperature control. It is simply a separate electronic thermometer embedded in the Topside.
If the water temp is OK, and the actual temp is not fluctuating more than normal, it's a nuisance. That topside in no longer manufactured, IIRC. It may be possible to put in a new thermistor, just splice in a new one, but I'm not sure what the cheapest replacement is-you'd be on your own. Might be worth a shot if you don't mind blowing a few bucks till you find the right one. |
