| Spa works!!! Did all electric work myself! (not that anyone cares) |
I dug the trench around the yard, ran the 6 gauge wire from the service entrance into the house all the way around to the back patio, installed it in conduit, installed the "spa box" on the wall 7' from the spa and connected everything myself. Last night, made the final connections to the main box and flipped the switch. The spa primed and the pumps kicked on. No tripped breakers and the water is heating up. It should be ready tonight!!!
For anyone planning to do the work themselves, dont be afraid. Its not as hard as you think. Just follow the directions and turn off the main power before making the final connections. Good Luck. |

you wired your hot tub yourself
My wife and I are in the process of buying a used Cal Spa and are very excited about getting it setup in an area where we usually have a pool. Eventually we want to work a deck into it. Anyways I have a 220 line going to my garage as aseperate line than my originall power to the garage from my outside pedestal ( I live in a trailer court ) anyways this circut is a 60 amp all I would be doing is changing that breaker to a 50 amp which is the size of my GFI im getting with my Spa. I was told I needed a 50 amp circut and that the GFI had to be at lease 10 feet from the Spa and not more than 25 feet away, sound okay??? My question to you is how low can I mount that GFI box to my garage can it be on the low end of my garage wall just over from the Spa then fun my flex coduit to the Cal Spa, Should be okay right??? Thanks for your time PAUL " title="Smile" /> " title="Smile" /> |
