crack in floor

I have a asteria indoor tub/whirpool, i found a crack in the floor today. Is there a epoxy or a way to fix it?

Re: crack in floor

Just because you have a crack in the floor doesn't mean it's going to leak. Most tubs are constructed of a fiberglas base with acrylic surface - it's the acrylic that cracks.

If you really want it fixed right you'll need to look for a repair service that specializes in acrylic restoration or repair of bathtubs/showers...

Re: crack in floor

It is leaking there was water in my basement that how I ended up finding the crack. Took the covers off my tub and the floor was wet.. Do someone sell like a repair kit?

Re: crack in floor

Ouch - if it's got a crack all the way through it then more than likely it's going to have to be replaced, or the tub will need to be pulled out and the crack repaired from the bottom.

Your best bet imo is to call a local tub restoration specialist and get an estimate.

Re: crack in floor

goggle it,I did, same and found a product, epoxy two parts I think, or a gel coat which may be more of a fiberglass repair,
good luck ( if its cosmetic of course) but there is definitely products out there for acrylic surface restoration.

you may find these supplies a lot cheaper at paint stores or some other more direct route.
As I do more research and restore our tub I will update info
good luck

from what I understand, if it's a cosmetic repair you would buff out the crack or using light sand paper prepare the area, apply the new sealant / surface repair /paint to match / there may be a top sealer as well.
