| 92 Cal-Spa Eliminator jet problem |
I've been having problems with the side jets. I have water flow through them, but can't get air flow through venturi valve. The whirlpool jet and the rejuvenator jets work and have air flow. I notice every time I turn on jets a white putty like substance comes out of jets. Almost looks like some kind of sealent. Some of the jets are also very floppy. Do I need to replace or can these be repaired? I got the tub used from someone and have no idea what to do. |

"Floppy" would not be good, as for the putty, that sounds strange. There is sometimes silicon sealant used on jets, but not putty. |

I think I know what you need, are you getting water up through the air controls too? I think you need the CalSpa eyeball gaskets. There are 2 of them in each jet, it holds it firm. I can get them for you if that is what you need. |

No I am not getting water up through the air controls, but I do suspect that the material that is coming from jets is probably the gaskets that have deteriorated over the years. Are they hard to replace? As far as the venturi valves, like I said they work fine when on whirlpool and rejuvenator jets, but not on the regular jets. Also, when I slightly open up the release valve on the top load filter I get nice airflow through the regular jets. Everything leans toward an airlock. Have tried everything, getting very frustrated.

Maybe an air lock, look this over:

If they jets are the CalSpa MaxFlo the gaskets are not hard to replace, remove the eyeball retainer, take out the eyeball, extract the rear gasket and replace. These gaskets look like big, fat o-rings. |
