| Air Injector relocation? |
I have a 5 year old spa that I enjoy but the location of the air induction intakes for the jets was not very well thought out. There are two of them and they are located right next to the headrests. Not very relaxing when they are open because of the noise they make.
I'm planning on adding some additional jets via a manifold, and thinking about reloacting the intakes inside where I can't hear them. I will cover up the existing holes and just leave the intakes inside the shell where I won't hear this air-sucking noise!
I keep them wide open all the time anyway because I like to have the bubbles in the water stream.
Before I go through this modification
I recently read where closing the intakes while the spa is heating will cause it to heat much faster because ambient air is not being introduced into the water stream. Does anyone have any information on this? Does it really make that much of a difference to close them when the spa is heating?
Thanks for your comments. " title="Laughing" /> |

they do make a difference when heating, IF you have a spa that uses the jet pump for filtration and heat. If your spa uses a small, separate circulation pump, this won't be affected by the air intakes. Placing the air intakes INSIDE the spa cabinet will draw in warm air from the cabinet anyway, so in that situation, even if you do have the jet pump for your filtration/heat, it will be drawing in warm air. Will be more comfortable to be hit with warm air anyway when in use. The only problem I can see possibly happneing is if you get the intakes too low inside the cabinet. They are directly hooked up to the jets, so when the jets aren't on, they fill with water. Too low, and you can imagine what will happen. |
