HELP! Spa Jet Issues...

<img src=:" title="Question" /> I need some advice from all the experts out there! OK - first some background - I bought this tub for $200 after it had sat on its side unused for about a year or so. The shell was and still is in perfect condition. I believe it is a Leisure Bay brand (at least thats what many of the parts say) but I havent been able to find it anywhere online. I got the tub home it home and a buddy helped me clean it up and with the electrical hookups. I went with bromine instead of chlorine and the tub worked great for a few months. Then one fateful night - it overheated and all heck broke loose. I awoke to the sound of the tub surging and spraying water like crazy under the spa cover. The water apparently had evaporated from the WAY TOO high temps and the water levels got low enough that it was just at or below the jets. This heat warped some of the rings (maybe called retainer rings?) where the jets are inserted into the wall fitting. I have included a link to a pic of the ring (as well as other pics of the tub) down below. I tried to find the replacement rings, but was told they cant be found as this specific part number. Since I couldnt find that part, my next idea was to go ahead and replace the jets. That is a lot more work but might be worth the update. One of my jets was already broken so the tub was out of commission anyway. That said - I need to figure out what kind of jets I should use and how much work im getting myself into here. Best I can tell I should get Power Storm Jets from Waterway to fit the openings in the shell and the water/air lines currently in my tub. I figure if Im going to all that trouble, I may as well redo the air tubing as well. Then, a quick flush of the system and Im hopefully back in business. I added a couple of other pics here for reference to see the tub type and other relevant (maybe) information. Any help anyone can offer would be great. Cold weather is here for several more weeks and I would love to get a couple of good uses out of it before its gone!! THANKS!!! Here is the link for the pics - hopefully Flickr works for everyone...easiest way to share them...and I tried to put as much of a description as possible... http://www.flickr.com/photos/yukmonkey/... 617256352/

Meltdown

Hi Yukmonkey,
I'm sorry to say that the jets are the least of your problems.
Under no circumstances should any digitally controlled spa exceed temperatures high enough to warp plastic. High Limit sensor should have picked up a problem at 108-110 degrees, and faulted the system out. Your spa exceeded 120 + degrees to warp plastic. If you spend time and energy repairing the plumbing, it will just happen again, and poses a danger. The first order is to replace the board, and sensor set without blinking an eye.
Then inspect proper flow, pump wiring etc. All of your fittings have been compromised, and the shell to plumbing fittings need to be replaced, or at least re-sealed (see if they are loose). The spa is a Leisure Bay "Sea Blue"
model. (limited Run) and uses an LBI V124 Board (I Think). The main chip on the board will be it's version.

I don't think that's a V124- note the 2" on the heater unions...I *think* that's one of the G2 models, either a G2R1B or G2R250 PCB, and I don't think the excessive heat warped the retainer rings, but excessive pressure.

That spa uses massive 5HP jet pumps, and they create so much pressure they are prone to a few issues, one of which is bending and warping those little retainer rings. They also create so much pressure they can split the 2" pipe on the pressure side, as well as overheat 5F to 10F over the set temperature by creating so much friction in the water.

Model

Hey Swine,
Have you seen the LBI with the hand sprayer attachment, and the spa side
on the front panel?
This is one of those molds.
Val, or v124 with executive 5 hs color kinetics "S2" light, and waterway.

It was a commissioned spa that ended up in our market center. The designation was a "C" model not to be confused with the "C2+"
G2 used Chemfree heater, not flow through. Not trying to be difficult, just sayin'....

Ahh, yes, forgot about that one. But didn't they use a white thermo-plastic shell? However, the early G2/S2 used this heater, not the massive 2.5" they used shortly thereafter. I know you're not being difficult, I hope I'm not either <img src=" title="Very Happy" />

C Blue

Swine, Thats It!! it had tiles in blue, and was a Revell shell. This is the same mold. and is essentially a light leader pack equiped model. <img src=" title="Very Happy" />
