Hose to ozonater
We purchased a 2007 HotSprings Grandee used last week. Seemed to work fine at the guy's house, but he did have a deck that came up about 8 inches around the hot tub so if there would have been a leak, we wouldn't have known it. Move went well. We went to fill it last night and OYE...a leak. My husband found a clear tube that seemed to have a bad/broken coupling that appears to have connected it to the ozonater. The water was coming from the hose. Has anyone ever had this happen? Is this common? **Update** After a little research, we realized that the check valve deteriorated. Any advice? I think my husband plans to pick up a new check valve and fix the problem himself. I'm anxious.

Re: Hose to ozonater
Just read your post and as you know by now you're on the right path. The check valve will often clog up w/the acid produced by the ozone generator when the tub is turned off. The lack of suction during the off period allows the check valve to clog. You can clean and should clean the check valve monthly by pulling the hose off and putting the hose in a cup of vinegar and the suction action will draw the vinegar thru the check valve/emitter cleaning the hose and check valve

Re: Hose to ozonater
Thanks! We'll make sure we do that with the vinegar.
I have to wonder if the previous owner let this awesome hot tub go for such a low price because he thought this was a major problem. It literally took minutes to fix once we figured it out. What would we do without the internet!
