| Moto jets stuck |
I just bough a older Hot Springs Classic. EX owner said the motojets were recently replaced by the dealer. How do I adjust them, the jets shoot water, but don't move up and down like they are suppopsed to.
Thanks for the help |

First thing to try is to make sure the air levers are open and the main diverter lever(s) are in the right position(s).
You can also try taking the filters out...the moto jets require a strong flow and a dirty filter can stop them. Also, make sure the filter compartment door is going all the way down when the jets are turned on...sometimes they stick up.
How long ago was recently? A guy the other day told me his tub was 7 or 8 years old and it was a 1988 indoor/outdoor model...seems like he lost about 12 years somewhere. " title="Very Happy" />
If these things don't work take the faceplates off, pull the small hose connected to the moto jet off from the back, and unscrew the moto-jet. Hold it up in the air by the end that the water comes out, if it does not hang straight down loosely and has any sort of bend to it then it needs to be replaced. |

Excellent advice, just adding this last little bit.
On really old ones, the guidebody is adjustable. The guidebody is what the faceplate screws into.
If all 4 mounting holes in the guidebody are slotted, adjust the guidebody all the way to the highest position.
If only 3 are slotted, and the 4th is fixed, it should not be adjusted |

One more thing... as the jet is screwed into the back of the housing, it must be tightened so the crosshair on the end of the jet is horizontal. That way it travels up and down in the vertical plane. Otherwise it scrapes the motoplate guide. |

moto jets stuck
Thanks for the help! Where are the air levers that I need to open? |

On a 1988, I think they're inside the filter compartment. If not, they're the levers on the top that aren't the Water divirter lever.
A pic would help, or a serial number " title="Very Happy" /> |

Well, I have gotten one motojet to go up and down. I took the covers off, they look new. I wonder if the fact that the tub is not level will effect the jets, it is 3 or 4 inches higher on one side, and the high side is the moto that will not go up and down, but it does have strong jet stream. Thanks for the help. Lew |

The pitch probably wouldn't make a difference. Check to see if you have air coming out of the motojet. If there isn't, further inspect the jet then the air control. |

There is a strong jet of water coming from the jet, I don't know about air, where is the air-control? I adjusted them with the four screws and it did nor help. The jets look brand new, just like the gal said who I bought the spa from.
Thanks for your help. |

If you're not getting air, they're not going to work.
Are the air flow controls inside the filter compartment?
If not, they're the levers on the tops of the spa shell. You probably have one lever that's a water divirter. The other levers, or dials, are air flow controls.
If you can post a pic, or find the serial number, might make things a likttle easier " title="Very Happy" /> |
