Hello! We just moved into a new house that happened to have a D1 spa " title="Smile" /> We had a spa tech come to diagnose our problem as the spa was not running properly. Apparently we need a new air pump. The old model was the Apollo, and I guess we can pick up the new model for around $200. Can anybody tell me how complex this is to install? The tech wants $230 for the pump and $200 for the labor. I'm assuming this is fairly average, but it seems like something we may be able to do ourselves. Looking for any advice. Thank you!

Takes about 15 minutes once you've got the side of the spa off.

So we installed the pump no problem, but we're still getting a Flow 1 problem! Help! Prior to replacing the pump, we had a spa tech look at the tub. He said we needed to replace the pump, and then he'd be able to tell if there were any other issues. He said he didn't foresee any, but it seems that apparently we have another problem. We have a brand new filter in too. Exact same situation as this forum post! http://spaforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=3968 It seems that maybe we can adjust the pressure switch. Any suggestions?

You need to open the top of your filter cannister to see if you are getting a LOT of air bubbles coming out of the top - this pushes the water up thru the center of the cavity which induces the flow.

If you're not getting a TON of bubbles, disconnect that replacement air pump or you could damage it.

P.S. If we're not getting a TON of bubbles, what could be a potential issue? What about if the bubbles are fine?

Check the bubbles first and then we'll go from there. I'll have to look up other responses I've made to this topic as it's a pretty involved discussion due to the way this tub circulates water.
