| HELP - INSTALLED WAVEMASTER 7000, E5 CIRC PUMP....NO HEAT |
I have a 97 prodigy. We just replaced the wavemaster 7000 and then the E5000 circ pump wasn't running (so it appeared). We just replaced with E5 circ pump and it is working, however, if I turn on the jets...the circ pump shuts down. The heater is currently not working, however prior to all of this it was working fine.
I see the heater plugs in the control box seem blackened...wondering if we burnt something up (maybe mis wired something).
The instructions on the E5 circ pump speak of a bonding wire....no idea what that is. The only wires to electric panel we could see to hook up were the black, white & green. The instructions were not great on where these go but we think we did it right...black-L, white-N, Green
If any of you have any ideas....we would be sooooooo greatful! This is feeling like a money pit..ugh!
Thank you! |

Re: HELP - INSTALLED WAVEMASTER 7000, E5 CIRC PUMP....NO HEAT
It sounds like you hooked up the circ pump correctly. You don't feel flow from the circ pump, at the outlet, when you turn on the jet pump?
The heater plugs always seem to get that way, and that shouldn't have any effect.
Is the circ pump plugged in to the correct recepticle? It should be the far left of the control box. |

Re: HELP - INSTALLED WAVEMASTER 7000, E5 CIRC PUMP....NO HEAT
Thank you so much.
We never unhooked the original wiring from the main control panel...just the pump itself. I keep reading about a bonding wire...but we don't see one anywhere???
The jets are now working with the circ pump running....so our problem is the heater WONT turn on. There's a red light on in the panel when we turn on the heater. We hear a click, click....but no heat.
You can see the circ pump is pushing water through the tub and through the heater....just no heat.
On the no fault 6000 heater we have a reset button that is flat and black and on the back on of the little heater box. Typically when the heater won't come on we press in on the heater reset...however....the reset is already compressed and you can't push it in any further..
Thank you! Thank you! for any help! |

Re: HELP - INSTALLED WAVEMASTER 7000, E5 CIRC PUMP....NO HEAT
Does the heater look like a trumpet? You won't see the reset popped out, you will feel a clicky or notchy feeling when you push it if it is tripped.
You can test if there is power going to the heater.
When you talk about clicking, do you get one click or a bunch of clicks? If a bunch of clicks you have a bad thermister and also if there is a click but no power there it is also a bad thermister. |
