Due to our remote location we cannot find anyone who can service our Hotsprings tub. We have purchased a new circulation pump but need guidance on how to remove the old and install the new, including what tools we need. If anyone has information on where we can get thorough instructions your help would be greatly appreciated.

If your spa has 3/4" tubing (1989 & newer) then it is easy. You can do it while the spa is full. Use wine corks to plug the hoses when you take them off. You will need a phillips screwdriver, possibly a regular screwdriver, a very small regular screwdriver and a pair of pliers. Most new circ pumps come without the cord, so you will need to use the cord off the old pump. Cut power to the spa, loosen the clamps on the 2 hoses, remove the hoses and quickly plug them with the wine corks, or C size batteries. Remove the 2 phillips screws holding it to the floor. Take off the back cap and you will see the 3 wires. The newest pump has 1 small phillips to take the back cap off. Hook the wires to the new pump and install it. Cut & Dry.
The newest pump (74427) has a foot that can not be moved, so if your install has the pump turned more sideways then you won't be able to screw it to the floor. It's no problem to not screw it down.
