| Motor woes! |
Get ready for this. First motor (2 speed) stopped working. Hum is heard when connected to the control box, or with voltage going directly to the motor with a jumper. Motor turns freely and no binding indicated. Neither speed will work. Input voltage verified at 110v on each input, for a total of 220v to the controller.
Second motor, I told you to get ready, is cycling on and off rapidly. It will click on for about a second, off, right back on, off, on again, then sit for a minute or so. It just repeats the process over and over. Once again voltage checks out. I removed the pump and placed it on a bench wired for testing electronics, so safety was present, and hooked up the required voltage. The motor continued to do the same thing about three times then it clicked on and ran continuously. I was wondering if the load caused by the water was a factor so I hooked it back up and it continued to cycle as mentioned earlier. I checked for binding and free rotation.
Please help! I am thinking about trying the capacitor from the cycling one on the one that hums. Would this be benefical? Also one of the motors is brand new. |

Just to clarify one point, the controller is not digital and I verified output voltage from the controller so that is not the problem. |

I switched out the capacitor and got one of the motors running on low speed. High speed does not seem to work though. I have White to L1, red to low speed and black to high speed. When I check the voltage from white to red it reads 120, white to black 120, black to red nothing. |

You ONLY have 120v going to the pump..... NOT 240 as required. |

What should each wire read when checked to ground. I have white, nothing, red 120 and black 120. I thought that the two 120 inputs would equal 240 for the high phase. |
