Pump Gets Hot and shuts off
I have a 2001 Hot Springs Vangaurd. My problem is that when i push the jets button everything works good for a while. after about 3 or4 minutes the pump would shut off. The display screens shows that the pump is still running but its not. after a while it will turn back on and run another 3 to 4 minutes. I was told by a "hot tub guy" that it was the pump. well i bought a new pump and yes it is better but now it runs about 10 minutes or so before it shuts off. once again to the hot tub store and they said try new filters. well i did and still the same thing. and everything else on the tub works great. any ideas would be a great help. thanks

Re: Pump Gets Hot and shuts off
You need to do some testing. Check voltage at the pump terminals on the circuit board. Also test amp draw on the hot wire of the pump. Do these tests running the pump. Also check to see if the pump feels very hot to the touch. Can you touch it for a full second. Also check the screen under the corner of the spa - this is where the pump exausts the hot air. Make sure there is good air flow out of this hole. Is this a new installation or has it been running fine up until now? Just want to make sure the electrical is correct.

Re: Pump Gets Hot and shuts off
thanks for the tips i will check voltage tomorrow. I have checked the airflow for the exhaust and it seems to be ok. This is a new install and i am semi concerned that electrical may not connected correctly. I will look into that also and get back to you.
