Ok, our pool pump just went and i was wondering if this pump is an energy efficient? Someone said that this pump was energy efficient, but I could not find anything on this pump. We just moved into this house. The pool company under the home insurance wants us to replace with new energy efficient pump for $800 or replace our current bearings for $250.

I would like to get some feedbacks on which pumps are good and reliable. Our pool is small in ground pool with hottub.

What exactly are they offering to do for that price? All the labor + parts?

The new motor should not cost anywhere near $800. If you're interested in efficiency you need to take a look at a variable speed PVSM pump like the Pentair Intelliflo or Hayward Tristar Energy Solution. Of the two, I'd recommend the intelliflo. You can find them for close to $800.

I think is too much if pool pumps cost for $800 with very advanced features. $250 for bearing changing is also too expensive for me. You can get brand new 2HP pool pump with already with energy efficient features at below $400 only at amazon with 5 years limited warranty for pump and 1 year manufacture warranty for motor.
